Muslim Youth United (MYU) has donated various blankets and jackets to various people as Malawi experience cold weather.
Through a project called Winter Warmth Initiative 2020, MYU has managed to reach out to people in Mphalombe and Blantyre districts.
According to MYU executive member Talha Master, the organization donated assorted food items at Queen Elizabirth hospital in Blantyre 600 blankets and Jackets to watchmen working in Limbe and Blantyre.
Master said:” Currently Malawi is experiencing cold weather which can cause health implications to people like watchmen who work especially at night. so we thought of giving them something tat can keep them warm at night”.
He added that Muslim Youth United also plans to reach out to people in other districts like Zomba soon.
“Plans are underway to visit Zomba district with same initiative and we also believe to reach some areas in Blantyre like Machinjiri”, Master Said.
He then commended other organizations like Ray of Islam, Swaliheena Institute, Muslim Aid Australia and Muslim Welfare Society for their corroborations and financial assistance towards the initiative.
