Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) Chairperson Timothy Mtambo has resigned from his position as the chairperson and all actitivism in none governmental organisations.
He has formed a movement called Citizen for Transformation (CFT) people’s Power Movement which is a revolution movement.
Mtambo revealed this at a press briefing that held on Wednesday,1April 2020 in Lilongwe.
Mtambo said he has resigned as chairperson of hrdc and is now Commander in Chief of the movement which he said is not a political party but a political movement for citizens of this country aimed at changing things in Malawi.
Mtambo has further endorsed UTM and Malawi Congress Party (MCP) alliance and asked Malawians not to vote for DPP.
“Fellow Malawian time has come to step forward and demand for change of our country. We will not move forward if we think this fight is for few people. Malawians have to rise up so that violation of human rights should stop, stealing our money has to stop ,no one can stop us if we stand together, ” he explained.
He said the new movement represent the future of Malawi in a drive to bring change and that it has started with nothing but the truth and justice and he will be on the ground for massive campaign against DDP.
Timothy Mtambo has been led massive demonstrations as Chairperson of HRDC in forcing Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Chairperson Dr. Jane Ansah to resign for mismanaging the May 21 elections.
