Asian Business Community donates medical equipment to Malawi hospitals
Asian Business Community (ABC) has phased out its covid 19 treatment program in Blantyre.
Announcing the development in Blantyre on Sunday ABC says most of its state of the art medical equipment which were being used at their covid 19 management centre at Royal Palm hotel in Blantyre will be donated to various hospitals in Malawi.
Speaking during the handover ceremony of the medical equipment wealth over 20 million kwacha, , ABC joint medical director Nabila Saddiq Tayub said it is very wise to donate these medical equipment to hospitals that will be needed most as some of them can be used in other areas other than treating covid 19.
“ABC thought of shutting down the centre after assessing and noting that the number of positive cases is decreasing in Malawi”, Saddiq said.
She said all the equipment will be given to hospital for free.

Meanwhile, Islamic Health Association of Malawi IHAM commended ABC for the kind gesture, adding hospitals under IHAM are expected to benefit more from the state of the art hospital equipment.
Executive secretary for IHAM Hajj Dyton, said there are expected to distribute the medical equipment to some of their hospitals which are in Zomba,Chiradzulu, Mangochi,Blantyre , Machinga and Salima.
